Individual and Group Project Pictures!

Above is the first picture of my individual project, which was focused on the area of Causeway Bay. This picture is of Jardine Street.
The next one up is of Yun Ping Road and  the old tong lous with Lee Theatre plaza and Times Square.
A picture showing an old rickety building with the newly built Hysan One commercial building.
 Yee Wo Street at night.
Our beautiful poster that we made for the group project! really happy with it! :)

more sketches!

the above tree was from the Nan Lian Gardens, at Diamond Hill. I really liked that place because of the Tang Dynasty style architecture, and the extremely quiet and serene atmosphere
The flamingoes pictured above were from Kowloon Park. We went there at around 2pm~ so I guess it was afternoon siesta time for the birds as many of them just stood around with their heads tucked in their bodies.

my travel portfolio mates! lena ru ..sally.
a trip to the central ferry pier!
people like to fish around the pier. here are some gestural sketches of a man preparing his equipment for fishing.

i sat on a bunch near school..
one of these benches.
super sloppy gesture of a tram as it stopped momentarily to pick up passengers and then moved on
a view of causeway bay from the vantage point of a bridge! (pictured below)
The bridge, and a sculpture from the Hong Kong History museum! it was pretty interesting since i had never been there before. this particular sketch was of a sculpture depicting prehistoric people in hong kong that made wooden rafts and went fishing.

a view of a building / buildings in causeway; i wanted to juxtapose the old tong lous of Hong Kong with the new skyscrapers (shown faintly behind). on the right is a ancient piece of chinese pottery from the history museum.
sketch of a sculpture of a Cantonese Opera performer!
an old Cathay Pacific airplane at the hk science museum!

a view of a busy street in causeway bay! notice the huge jumble of signs.
we went to olympic station and trekked to the pier..trying to get as close as possible to the cargo terminal
Wing Lee street on the right! it is an old historical street with old 1960s HK houses that was about to be torn down, until a movie called Echoes of the Rainbow became a hit and everyone wanted to preserve the cultural heritage.
hanging clothes along 2 sticks of bamboo and ladders, the best way to hang clothes.
an old couple talking and playing something (i think) in shatin park! they seemed to be enjoying themselves :)
Shatin park? i don't know the name actually. anyway, there were quite a few people lounging around and taking afternoon naps.
a view of the bridge that traverses the river there.
a crowd of people watching musical performances in the stage next to the Shatin park.
Wing Lee street old houses! i think i'm going to redo this drawing.. on the right is my favourite street food stall in Sham Shui Po. i simply love the curry / satay sauce they put on the fishballs and shiu mai here!
at a Cha Chaan Teng in Sham Shui Po, called Fuk Wing Restaurant. on the left is a classic hong kong snack, a plain ham&cheese sandwich, and on the right is a signature hk drink, HK Style Milk Tea.
on the right is a drawing i did of Causeway Bay, again showing the contrast between old and new buildings. the tallest building there is a significant structure in Causeway Bay, a large commercial building called Times Square.
a rotated picture of Fuk Wing Restaurant that idid while i sat there enjoying my tea :D
sketches of a bus ride home!
